Rumors are always flying about new Apple updates. Have no fear, the monkeys are here to bring you a few of the most recent ones. duet display

Duet Display

Duet Display is a new app to the iOS app store developed by former Apple engineer Rahul Dewan. If you have an iPad and a Mac, you now have 2 working monitors (portrait or landscape) using the USB charging cord. Open the app on your iPad, then plug in. Once you're plugged in, a little settings icon will pop up on your menu bar along with a place to plug in your password, since you're installing display drivers. With the extra screen coming from the iPad, you can freely click and scroll with your fingertips when needed. Because Wi-Fi is not needed for Duet Display, the chances of lag are greatly diminished. The app retails at $14.99.

Apple Pay is quickly taking over. Starting as a feature on the new iPhone 6 and 6 plus, Apple Pay now supports credit cards that account for more than 90% of credit card purchases across the country. To use it, you simply put your iPhone up to the payment terminal and confirm your purchase with touch ID. Because of its huge success, Apple plans to expand beyond just the iPhone 6 and 6 plus and even beyond America. It plans to launch in the Middle East, Africa and various countries in Europe. However it is not yet clear when this feature will be available everywhere.

While Touch ID is not necessarily new, it could be getting some new updates in the future (patent pending). Looks like Apple is hoping to give Touch ID some added security measures with proximity detection as well as ink printed on the lens. Printing the lens with ink will allow the fingerprint to no longer be immediately visible. With the addition of proximity detection, users will be able to make pattern swipes to unlock their device. This little addition is still in the patent phase. Keep checking back for updates!
