She is currently an Honors student in her senior year pursuing a Corporate Communications degree with a Business Foundations certificate at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation in May 2016, Katherine plans to return to her native city of Houston. She is always up for adventure and enjoys discovering what both Houston and Austin have to offer. Nowadays, the average person has 3 million passwords- an exaggeration, but it is beginning to feel like the truth. Every website, store, and building now requires you to have a login and password. Even while creating your new login and password, there are more caveats: password must be alphanumeric and contain uppercase, lowercase, and a symbol. As we move forward in our technologically advancing world, will the password soon become obsolete?

How to Protect Your Hacked Email

When you receive an email from a “store” or “person” containing links, read it carefully. When you receive an email, check out the sender first. Make sure it’s a valid email address and not one very similar. Many emails look and feel just like an email from an actual store, but in reality, they contain links that give hackers access to your email information. Maybe the links send a virus to spread through your computer instead, either way, you clicked on the pesky link and now it's too late. What's worse, you don’t even know your email has been compromised. Be on the lookout for bad grammar, misspelled words, and incorrect spacing and capitalization.

IT Budget Breakdown

Three months away from the New Year, with worldwide IT spending set to continue to decrease, that means your IT spending is probably set to continue to decrease, too. No need to worry though, this is not the death of IT spending, rather a purge of unnecessary costs. 

It’s getting down to the wire. If you haven’t already, it’s time to plan your IT budget. IT spending is set to include PCs, software, and telecommunications, and more. IT budgets need to plan for stability, usability, and productivity.
