INFOGRAPHIC: E-Waste

We've all heard that e-waste is a growing problem around the world. As technology advances, so does our urge to get the latest and greatest electronics out there, but what happens to the electronics we no longer want? Have you ever stopped to think about how much of that ends up in a landfill?

E-waste dangers stem from what’s inside the machines. The electrical parts that make up the machines have a multitude of hazardous materials including lead, mercury, arsenic, copper, and more. While the materials are safe inside our machines, it’s the disposal that exposes potential risks. The chemicals found in a landfill can seep into the ground, allowing the waste to seep into our water supply and our atmosphere.
