We love getting to know our customers so we thought we would let our customers get to know us a little better too. Next up in our Meet The Monkeys series is our Operations Manager, Dale:

Meet Dale!

Name: Dale

Title: Operations Manager

Describe an average work day for you: My day typically starts out with lots of coffee! After that, I review the previous day’s shipments, and the current day’s orders that Ops has to work on. I check in, face to face, with some of our Ops team members, and the Ops supervisors, to see how things are progressing, and find out if any issues need addressed. There never seems to be a shortage of Ops, Facilities and certification projects to work on, which keeps me very busy most days. At the end of the day, I’ll usually go out into our Packout & Shipping areas, and if needed, will try to lend a hand, or just stay the hell out of the way. We’ve got a damn good team out there. Once all shipments are done, I lock-up the bay doors, turn off the lights, and head home for a cold beer!

Use two adjectives to describe yourself: Does overweight count as one? Whew, good, I was afraid someone might notice. OK, how about focused and analytical. Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket.

How long have you been with ServerMonkey? I joined Servermonkey September 2014, so that makes it a little over 2 years, and it has been an absolute blast.

What brought you to ServerMonkey? I was with HP for over 26 years. I was a Supply Chain Operations Manager managing PC returns. Somebody must have told them I was still there, because they finally caught-up to me, and told me I had to go.

What is your favorite movie or book and why? I really like action and war movies, and since there are so many great ones, I can’t pick just one. I don’t read many books because I read slowly, but Executive Orders by Tom Clancy is my all-time favorite. That sucker is like 800 pages long, but it sure was an exciting read. I think it only took me 9 months to finish the book. Hehehe :)

What do you like to do in your spare time? Competition BBQ, drink beer, and play football. Or, tear my Achilles tendon as I’ve been known to do. That’s why some folks call me “Scooter”, because I was on one for 5 months in 2015.

Favorite thing about working at ServerMonkey? Well, that’s a hard choice. Is it the Donuts? Kolaches? Cake? Lunch? Candy at Emily’s desk? Just kidding!!! I really enjoy the people here; our Monkeys! That’s what makes this place so awesome! Everyone cares about our customers, getting the job done right, and about each other. I’m proud to be part of such a wonderful team!!!

Thanks for sharing, Dale! You can see all of our Meet The Monkeys posts here.
