Apple and IBM Shake Hands

ibm-apple-624x583Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. While Apple and IBM have been at war for as long as we can remember, they no longer have the need to battle. Apple may have beat out IBM in the PC war many years ago, but now, the companies have decided they will be playing for the same team. After the announcement to work together to bring business focused apps to market, the first creations will be IBM Mobile First for iOS solutions and a business focused version of AppleCare.

apple_chromeAfter three unsuccessful attempts to work together in the past, this time will be different. Apple’s ingenious product design will match IBM’s secure and custom solutions to make a great pair. While IBM will most likely be handling the activation and supply management, it remains unclear who will run the majority of services.

The creation of made for business apps, cloud platforms, and support services is just the beginning for these two companies. With hopes of transforming how businesses work and ibm-logointeract with each other, Apple and IBM will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of employees, while increasing customer satisfaction at levels never seen before.

Set to release in the fall, apps will target businesses in retail, banking, healthcare, transportation, and telecommunications. Apple has yet to focus on corporate customers, but with the help of IBM’s analytics, the expansion is within reach. What do you think about Apple and IBM working together?
