Consumer Tech: June Edition

Written by Katherine Creeden | Jun 25, 2015 1:00:00 PM

Another month, more consumer tech. It’s officially summer! We know that in the summer months, you’re busy blowing through vacation spots and taking millions of photos that have to be posted to social media as soon as possible. We also know the more you’re on your phone, the more you need to charge it. This month, we’re bringing you some of our favorite tools to charge your devices.

inCharge

The inCharge is the smallest keyring charger. It’s portable, flexible, and colorful coming in 8 color choices. The inCharge measures at 1.5 in long and .27 in wide and can clip onto anything via its magnetic clasp.  The inCharge comes with either a lighting connector or a microUSB, making it compatible with almost any device. Another reason we love this tiny charger- the creators want to be as environmentally friendly as possible! The inCharge retails at $10, or if you want to forgo packaging to avoid producing waste and packaging material, you can get your inCharge for $9. The inCharge is ready to be shipped today.

Couchlet

The Couchlet advertises itself as “power where you want it.” You know when you’re sitting on the couch charging your phone on the nearest plug and your phone rings, so you have to stretch over the couch in an awkward position to answer it while keeping it plugged in? Or you want to plug your phone into the outlet behind your bed, so you have to squeeze your arm between the mattress and bed frame to reach said outlet? The Couchlet fixes these exact issues. The Couchlet has a folding arm that makes it easy to fit between couch cushions or under your mattress. The Couchlet is equipped with a 6 foot USB cable to connect to your outlets for power and has low voltage, so it’s safe. The Couchlet is expected to ship December 2015 and is retailing at $16.

SONICable

Another issue surrounding charging is the time it takes to charge your devices. Your phone may be at 23% charge, but you only have 45 minutes to charge it before you leave. The SONICable can charge any device in half the time as a regular charging cable in a USB port. The SONICable is equipped with a sonic switch that turns off sync/data allowing the cable to focus all power on charging. The SONICable has a dual sided USB, aluminum connectors, and it’s tangle free and durable. The SONICCable is available in three colors and priced at $27.
