iOS 8 Tips and Tricks

Find me on:

So you’ve downloaded the new iOS 8 and hate it? You had just gotten used to the last update, and now you have no idea how to use the new one. The Monkeys have gathered our favorite tips and tricks to show you it’s really not that bad.
    1. You can hide notifications for certain texts.
      • Say you’re with a group of friends, and you don’t want them to know you’re texting a certain person because you’re planning them a surprise party. Through the new “details” section in your messages, you can turn notifications off. Voila! They won’t suspect a thing.
    2. You can respond to texts while staying on your current screen.
      • It is such a hassle to have to leave your Facebook feed to respond to a text message. When your notification pops up either in the middle of your screen or in your banners, you can respond right then and there by slightly scrolling down.
    3. Camera Timer
      • The art of taking selfies on your iPhone is finally a piece of cake. With the new update, the camera received a timer! You have two options: 3 or 10 seconds. In addition to the timer, it adds the burst effect giving you endless options to choose from! No one looks good in the first picture, right?
    4. Third-party keyboardsiphone ios8
      • You decided to make the fateful switch from Android to Apple, but you miss the keyboard. You’re in luck because Apple is now allowing third-party keyboards. Download the app “SwiftKey,” and you’ll be on your way to swiping from letter to letter.
    5. Recover deleted photos
      • Everyone has issues with storage on their iPhones. The first thing you do when you receive the message that you need do something about your storage or get a new phone is delete photos. You open your albums, click 128 photos, and delete them all at once, but oh no! You deleted the photo of Great Aunt Bootsy on her 93rd birthday! Now, the iPhone has a “Deleted Photos” album. You can recover those cherished photos you accidentally deleted for up to 30 days.

The Monkeys don’t think the update is all bad. We happen to be very fond of it; you just have to find the little tricks they’ve allowed! What’s your favorite little secret of the iOS8? Share it with us in the comments below!
