Happy Tech-O-Ween!

Written by The Monkey | Oct 10, 2014 9:20:00 PM

It’s that time of year again and things are getting pretty spooky. We’re getting in the Halloween spirit around ServerMonkey headquarters and have dressed up The Monkey in some traditional costumes. That inspired us to think about what tech inspired costumes The Monkey would like to wear and thus began Tech-O-Ween. We’ve compiled a few costume options and ideas below that we think anyone would look great in and possibly win the best costume contest. iPhone People probably won’t have to ask, “What are you supposed to be?” with this costume. Even Android users can easily discern the point of this tech costume. Also, this year people of small or large stature can go as their favorite mobile device. With the new larger additions to the iPhone family, the 6 and 6 Plus, you can go as twins with your shorter, or taller friend. Or, you can even go as a bent version of the device.

Bitcoin

2014 seemed to be the year of trying to make Bitcoin happen. Creating the Bitcoin mascot may take a ton of work and yards of felt, but it’s sure to be an interesting talking point for trick-or-treaters.

Steve Jobs Not much effort is needed for this ensemble to portray the late Steve Jobs. A black turtleneck, stone washed “Dad jeans”, a pair of eye glasses, an iPhone and you’re set. It’s so easy a baby can do it.

Bill Gates Microsoft’s head honcho has another iconic look that is easy to duplicate with articles sitting right in your closet. Though you may want to include a Windows 10 handbook with your costume so folks won’t mistake your get-up as everyday office wear.

Mark Zuckerberg Who would have ever thought that a hoodie and baggy jeans would become the iconic trademark of the world’s largest social network? This costume is simple and can be achieved with items already in your closet.

Minecraft Gamers can give their thumbs a break and hit the parties in their favorite game inspired costume. The block-headed characters from Minecraft will be a popular choice this year with a ready-made costume from Party City.

The BSOD The dreaded blue screen of death might be the scariest costume to those who have ever faced a system failure. You’ll be sure to terrorize friends and coworkers with this grim ensemble.
