ServerMonkey Partners with the 2014 Church IT Roundtable

This October ServerMonkey will partner with Church IT Network to help sponsor the 2014 Church IT Network National Roundtable. Church IT Network is a peer group of IT individuals dedicated to assisting and supporting churches and their efforts to spread worship through various methods information technology.

The annual roundtable consists of sessions, workshops, and keynotes focused on providing the best solutions to many issues faced by church organizations and their IT efforts, including; mobile, social media, and user interface design.

ServerMonkey Gets Fanatical about Change in Houston, Texas

This fall ServerMonkey will sponsor The Fanatical Change Foundation’s “Hollywood Halloween”, an event benefiting local Houston residents in need. The Fanatical Change Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization that focuses on charitable giving to recent victims of life altering tragedy and letting the power behind their individual stories of suffering inspire donors to be the change they wish to see in the world.

The cocktails and costumes event will take place Thursday, October 30, 2014 at The Diamond Club at Minute Maid Field. Guests will be treated to a silent auction, cocktails, live music, and amazing Halloween flair.

This May ServerMonkey turns 3! Over the past three years ServerMonkey has grown and thrived, and just like a baby we’ve learned to crawl, walk and now run at our own pace in the realm of refurbished IT equipment.

In the past three years, ServerMonkey has increased its revenue more than 30% year over year since its inception. And with our buy back program, we’ve increased the bottom line of numerous companies and organizations to the tune of $20 million.

With those increasing numbers, we’ve been able to stimulate the economy even more by adding jobs on a consistent basis, one monkey at time. What started out as a five person manned operation has now expanded to over 30 diverse employees, each highly qualified with the necessary skills and certifications.

ServerMonkey to Attend FOSE

ServerMonkey will head to Washington, D.C. May 13-15 to attend the FOSE Conference and Expo. FOSE is the longest leading conference focusing on the government technology community.

The three day event, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, will feature an opening keynote from Tom Donilon, former National Security Advisor to the Obama administration. Donilon will be giving an inside perspective on America’s foreign defense and cyber policy.

Individuals that attend the FOSE Conference will have access to more than 60 technical sessions discussing best practices, policy updates and guidance across topics of Cybersecurity, Mobile Government, Cloud & Virtualizations, Big Data, and more.

Heartbleed Bug

The Heartbleed encryption error has taken the interwebs by storm this week. The bug that was discovered in the popular OpenSSL encryption software has seemingly been around for over 2 years, as the result of a coding error on New Year’s Eve in 2011.

It has been estimated that over 500,000 websites could have been affected by Heartbleed. The bug allows a hacker to repeatedly access the memory of data servers and steal vital user data. Social security numbers, credit card numbers, banking info, passwords, usernames, and sensitive information are all up for grabs.
