Cable management and organization is a big hassle for server technicians, but it's a must have in most cases where companies are worried about the appearance of their data centers. Every cable management arm will be different, some will mount directly to the chassis, while others will mount directly to the rail. However, the installation method demonstrated in the video below should work with most servers.

With the recent announcement that Michael Dell will take his company private in a $24 billion leveraged buyout, there are several things to keep an eye on both as a consumer and an investor.

This deal is already historic because of its sheer size – it’s the largest private equity deal since the financial crisis – but it’s also significant because Dell has become a household name ever since it was founded in Michael Dell’s dorm room at The University of Texas in 1984. The company has since become one of the largest PC makers in the world, all the while sticking to its original mantra of letting consumers customize their machines to their own specifications.

Most of us have been watching ARM processor technology slowly emerge as an efficient alternative to Intel’s x86 processors. Currently, ARM offers two types of licenses for its chip designs – companies can buy an architectural license to design their own processors or they can buy a license for a chip that is already designed. Lately we have noticed that new implementation of ARM technology could ultimately create a paradigm shift in the virtualization of the software and server business.

We stopped by iRobot's booth at CES 2013 to check out their latest rain-gutter cleaning robot – The Looj 330.

The Looj 330 is the third generation of iRobot's gutter cleaning devices, and we were immediately impressed by its ability to sense, clean and blast away all the usual debris you may find in rain gutters. Spinning at 500 RPM, this powerful little device can clean a 30-foot section in less than five minutes, and approximately 200 feet on a single charge.

Apple gadgets are fun. But you know what else is fun? Sending them through 1.5 HP industrial grade hard drive shredders!

All kidding aside, if you're looking for a way to safely destroy information on hard drives, smartphones or other electronic devices, this is the way to do it. Here at ServerMonkey, all scrap materials are always recycled. So none of this e-waste is going to landfills!
