What to do After Microsoft Ends Support for Windows XP

After almost 13 years, the end has finally come. Microsoft will end support for its Windows XP operating system effective today. XP has been Microsoft’s most successful operating system since its launch in 2001.

What does this mean for you? Well, a little or a whole lot if your computer is currently running on Windows XP. After today, changes won’t be immediately felt. Your computer will not stop running nor will you face the Blue Screen of Death when you turn on your computer. No features will be disabled and you won’t be forced to upgrade to a new OS.

Overload. That would be my first word to describe the living, breathing, massive event known as SXSW Interactive. From March 7th – 10th, I was in a constant state of movement, running from one panel discussion to the next. Making sure I was early enough to score a seat (most panels filled up - cutthroat and unscrupulous tactics may have been used) to hear top industry pros fill me in on what’s new and on the forefront of technology.

CAER Praises RERA Introduction

The Coalition for American Electronics Recycling (CAER) endorsed the swift passage of the Responsible Electronics Recycling Act (RERA), which was introduced to the House of Representatives on July 24th. The bill, introduced by U.S. Representatives Gene Green (D-TX) and Mike Thompson (D-CA), has thus far received bipartisan support.
