With the upcoming release of Windows 10, rumor has it that Apple will also be releasing some upgrades with iOS 9 and OS X 10.11. Upgrades include improvements in stability and performance and the addition of several security features.
Apple will implement a new typeface, San Francisco, for the new software, which is currently found on the Apple Watch.
Rootless, the new security feature, will have the ability to prevent administrative-level users from being able to access certain files on Apple devices. While the jail breaking community will have a hay day, this is a good thing for law enforcement.
Many applications will now be backed up to an iCloud Drive to make app syncing more secure for customers. iCloud Drive will offer better end-to-end encryption and faster syncing.
Other updates to OS X include a new Home application to manage HomeKit devices. This is designed to assimilate home accessories such as smart thermostats, wireless door locks, garage door openers, etc. Other potential features of HomeKit include virtual representations of rooms in order to easily connect devices.
iPads can also expect an update with a new split-screen viewing option, which will support 1/2, 1/3, and 2/3 views. Users can view different apps, or different views of the same app. iPad users can anticipate multi-user logins.
Apple maps will now have public transit directions for bus, train, and subway routes. There is also a rumor that Apple is working on an augmented reality view to view points of interest in your location.
A release date has not yet been confirmed.
